While watching the Maui sunset from land is spectacular, there’s nothing like setting sail on the open seas with a cocktail in hand and watching the sun go down. We love catching lunch at Mama’s or an early dinner so we can enjoy the view before the sun goes down. Located on the north shore of the island, they serve fresh fish options and delicious drinks all while looking out onto a secluded cove. And while it is expensive, it is the place to celebrate a special occasion and in my opinion, it certainly lives up to the hype. Bundle up and head up the volcano to view the crater, take a short hike, and then watch the sun go down. Luckily, Haleakala sunset and stargazing can be just as spectacular as sunrise, without the early morning wake up. But on a honeymoon (or really any vacation) there’s a chance you don’t want to wake up at 3 am to drive up a mountain and watch the sunrise.
